
Aksyon Klima Pilipinas (AKP) is the Philippines’s leading civil society coordination network for climate action. Consisting of nearly 50 civil society and people’s organizations nationwide, it advocates for climate change adaptation, mitigation, loss and damage action, finance, and technology transfer at the national and global levels through science-based, urgent, inclusive, and equitable decision-making processes anchored on upholding human rights and social justice.

Our mission
To act as the leading Filipino civil society voice in advocating for urgent, inclusive, and effective climate change adaptation and mitigation policies and strategies and upholding climate justice at the national, regional, and global levels, through evidence-based campaigns, actions, and other meaningful engagements with governments, businesses, vulnerable communities, and other stakeholders
What do we do?
- Directly engages with national government agencies for the implementation of policies, programs, and projects addressing climate and environment-related issues, with the participation of representatives of civil society, people’s organizations, academe, media, and faith-based groups
- Lobbies for the enactment and enhancement of laws and policies enabling climate action, environmental conservation, and social justice at the local, national, and global levels, including within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
- Encompasses a wide network of climate and environment-oriented organizations and partners with other similar networks in the Philippines, holding timely sessions for knowledge-sharing and capacity-building of its members and partner networks, and popularizing key climate and environmental issues
- Monitors and conducts policy review sessions to analyze, discuss, and propose relevant policy recommendations and actions across all levels of governance, from the global climate negotiations to impacts at the grassroots level
